This article highlights how STEM topics develop critical skills; the skills closely aligned to Letter-Sleuth are critical thinking, creativity, and resiliency. Students need to analyze their letters and figure out which word they have and keep trying to correctly spell their word. In order to cultivate these critical skills, STEM needs to work in unison with other school topics. This way, students are developing broad skills and strategies they can apply to any learning topic. This article connects STEM with other school topics, which Letter-Sleuth closely ties STEM with English language arts and physical education. Letter-Sleuth identifies that learning can be stimulated through movement and exploration; it also teaches students about spelling important STEM words, which reinforces their ability to recognize and remember these key terms. Plus, the clues teach them facts they may not have known previously. Overall, we were very grateful to review this article and review what current educators are thinking about.
